The Edmonton Elite are proud to announce the addition of former GTA All Star Offensive Lineman Michael “Bruce” Antoine for the upcoming 2020 season.


Bruce comes to the Elite after previously playing for the GTA All Stars of the Northern Football Conference. While playing for the All Stars, Bruce was named an NFC All-Star on 2 occasions. Bruce also achieved 2 CMFL National Championships and 4 NFC Championships on his resume.


Additionally, Bruce played one season with the Central Alberta Buccaneers and was named a 1st All-Star for his efforts. He was also named the Bucs Lineman of the year that same season.


Previous to the All-Stars and the Bucs, Bruce played for Holland College and the Burlington Braves of the CJFL. Finally, Bruce played for Team Ontario and Team Canada.


Bruce will bring his championship resume to Edmonton to team up with the likes of Leblanc, Kline, and Harke on the offensive line for what is expected to be the most dominant line in the AFL.

The Edmonton Elite are proud to announce there biggest acquisition to date. The Elite are excited for the addition of former BC Lion OL Jonathon Harke for the upcoming 2020 season.


Jonathan comes to the Elite after playing for the BC Lions in 2019 where he was selected 42nd overall in the 2019 CFL Draft. During the CFL Combine, Harke set a combine record in the bench press with 32 reps.


Prior to the playing for the BC Lions, Harke suited for the University of Alberta Golden Bears where he played for 2 years. Before the Golden Bears, Jon suited up for 5 years with the Edmonton Wildcats in the CJFL.


Jon will be relied upon to dominate the offensive line with our already outstanding additions that have joined the Elite that are expected to control the line of scrimmage from start to finish.

The Edmonton Elite are proud to announce the signing of Defensive Lineman and Linebacker Shaq Lawson.


The Elite are excited to have acquired the former Kamloops Bronco and McMaster Marauder to their ever growing roster. Shaq is yet another home grown talent who is coming back to compete in the Alberta Football League.

Lawson is a hopeful and promising CFL prospect for the 2020 season and beyond, bringing a hard working and tenacious work ethic to the field and his opponents. A product of the Edmonton football community, one which is constantly growing and evolving putting their name all over the world as a hub of football talent.


Shaq's swagger and homegrown roots will help bolster a defense that will become a force to be reckoned with for upcoming seasons.

The Edmonton Elite are proud to announce the signing of Receiver Rick LeMoignan.


Rick is another home grown product having played for the Austin O'Brien Crusaders and Edmonton Wildcats. During his time with the Cats Rick was named 'King of the Cats' for best speed/strength training.


Rick has many accolades that highlight a very successful football career to date. Being named to the U-19 Team Canada International Bowl team and more recently completing his eligibility with the St. Mary's Huskies of the Atlantic University Sport (AUS).


With the Huskies, Rick was named a conference all-star and St. Mary's team MVP in 2015, as well as a 2 time academic All-Star while with the team.


We are very excited to have the quiet, calm demeanor and play making ability that Rick brings to the Elite. He will definitely demand the attention of the Alberta Football League's top defensive backs.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of Defensive Lineman Hayward Beasley for the upcoming 2020 season.


Hayward is originally a product of Florida High School Football where he was named the most improved players for his team. Upon moving to Edmonton after High School, Hayward played for the Edmonton Huskies and Okanagan Sun of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).

In 2015 with the Huskies and 2017 with the Sun, Beasley led the team in sacks. Hayward spent one season with the St. Mary's Huskies of the Atlantic University Sport (AUS), until an injury sidelined him for the year.


We are very excited to have Hayward join the Elite program, and look forward to his continued domination of the line of scrimmage in his return to Edmonton.

The Edmonton Elite Football Club are excited to announce the addition of RB Taylor 'Tay Tay' Simmons for the upcoming 2020 season.


Taylor is another hometown athlete looking to give back to the city where his football journey developed. Having previously played for the Sherwood Park Renegades and St. Albert Stars, collecting various accolades such as; a 7 time all-star of the Alberta Football League (AFL), perennial top 3 rusher in the AFL, team MVP, 2x team OMVP and REC of the year.

More notably Taylor was apart of the Fort McMurray Monarchs perfect 11-0 season in 2018 where he was able to secure an AFL Championship and Canadian Major Football League Championship (CMFL), defeating the GTA All-Stars 25-24.


Taylors hardworking determination will be a great asset to the Elite Football brand that will be sweeping through the city of Edmonton come this spring.


We are very excited to welcome him back home and bolster a very strong and diverse backfield.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of Receiver Tyler Simmons for the upcoming 2020 season.


The home grown talent continues to role in with the signing of Tyler Simmons. A product of the Queen Elizabeth Knights football program and winner of the Jason Daly award from the school. Tyler continued to play for the Edmonton Wildcats of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL). After leaving the Wildcats, Tyler played for St. Alberta stars, being named the teams most improved player and an All-star in 2017.


Tyler's most notable achievement came as a member of the Fort McMurray Monarchs where he was named the Heart and Hustle award winner as a part of the teams 2018 Canadian Major Football Leagues (CMFL) National Championship team.


Tyler's stature stands out on the field and will definitely be something that Alberta Football League (AFL) teams will be on the look out for in the coming seasons. The Edmonton Elite Football Club is very fortunate to have Tyler's unwavering effort and ability for 2020 and beyond.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of RB Chad Doherty for the upcoming 2020 season.


Chad comes to the Elite having previously played for the now folded teams in the Alberta Football League the Calgary Gators, Edmonton Stallions, and Edmonton Raiders.

Doherty’s most successful season came in 2013 with the Gators. Chad helped the Gators go undefeated in 2013 which culminated with an AFL Championship.


Chad has impressed so far in early practice sessions and will be looked upon to carry the rock behind the Elites big men for what is hopefully the teams first AFL Championship season.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of Defensive Lineman James Forrest for the upcoming 2020 season.


James is another home grown local talent coming back to Edmonton to continue his football career. Having played his high school football for the Austin O'Brien Crusaders, where he was named Rookie of the Year and most underrated player. Claiming two provincial titles in the process.


Upon graduating high school James moved down south to play for Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin of NCAA Division 3.


James is not stranger to the Alberta Football League having played for the Edmonton Raiders and St.Albert Stars, racking up a 2nd team all-star vote in the process.


James is bringing a hardworking and tenacity to the D-Line that will not go unnoticed in the seasons to come as a member of the Edmonton Elite Football Club.

 The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of DL Clinton Selzler for the upcoming 2020 season.


Clinton comes to the Elite after playing the 2019 season with the Central Alberta Buccaneers. Clinton has also previously suited up for the Edmonton Huskies of the CJFL.

Selzler has an outstanding season during his campaign with the Bucs. Clinton, normally playing on the defensive line, stepped in to the offensive line at left tackle where he became a dominant force which led to him being named a 1st Team All Star, all while never having played on the o-line before.


Clinton also got significant time on the defensive side of the ball also, dominating the line of scrimmage and making big plays when it mattered most.


Selzler will be looked upon to continue his football development and is expected to lead a defensive line that will intimidate opposing offenses during the upcoming season.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of former University of Windsor Lancers LB Nick Leonidakis for the upcoming 2020 season.

Nick is also the new team President of the Elite.


Nick comes to Edmonton from the Cold Lake Fighter Jets 2019.

Previous to the Jets, Nick has played 3 seasons with the Central Alberta Buccaneers and 1 season with the Fort McMurray Monarchs.

This is Nicks 6th season in the AFL. He has been voted an all star on several occasions. Nick was the DMVP for the Bucs in 2015.

Nick also holds several records in the AFL which include most fumble recoveries in a season with 5, most sacks in a game for regular season or playoffs with 5, and most tackles for a loss in a game for regular season or playoffs with 6.
Nick also is currently tied for 1st all time for most career playoff sacks.


Nick will be a welcomed addition to the Elite Defense that is expected to dominate this upcoming season.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of WR John Kot for the upcoming 2020 season.


Kot comes to the Elite after spending the 2019 season with the Central Alberta Buccaneers. Prior to the Bucs, Kot played for the now defunct teams the Edmonton Stallions, Edmonton Raiders, and St.Albert Stars. John also previously suited up for 2 years with the Edmonton Huskies of the CJFL.

John was voted Team MVP with all 3 previously mentioned teams of the AFL. John also has been voted as a multi time all star in 7 different seasons. Kot also is tied for the league record for longest missed field goal return in AFL history at 129 yards.


The Elite are expecting John to use his patented speed and veteran savvy to help the Edmonton offense thrive for the upcoming season.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the addition of former University of Alberta Golden Bears OL Marshal Klein for the upcoming 2020 season.


Marshal comes to the Elite after a successful career at the University of Alberta where he played offensive line from 2013-2017. Following his career with the Golden Bears, Klein played 1 year with the Okanagan Sun in the BCFC in 2018 where he was recognized as an All-Star during the season where he did not allow a sack.


Klein is expected to be a standout and an anchor for the Offensive line that will look to dominate the line of scrimmage for the 2020 AFL season.

The Edmonton Elite would like to announce the signing of Athlete Adam Nesbitt for the 2020 season.

Adam comes to the Elite having accomplished many accolades throughout his playing career from high school to the Alberta Football League. Adam was named QB of the year in Vernon, British Columbia, leading the league in passing yards and touchdowns. After high school, Adam made the change to the defensive side of the ball. Breaking the franchise record for interceptions (7) during his time with the Kamloops Broncos, and being named a BCFC defensive MVP and All-Star. In the AFL Adam continued his dominance on the defensive side of the ball. Adam was the rookie of the year for the St. Albert Stars in 2015, where he lead the league in interceptions (7). Adam has been a perennial All-Star in the AFL from 2016-2018.

Adam has made a home in Edmonton and comes to the Elite with a vast player knowledge from his playing experience on both sides of the ball. His outstanding character is a great asset to the Edmonton Elite Football Club, and we can't wait for him to set the standard for our defensive backfield.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the signing of LB/DB Ryan Miller for the upcoming 2020 season

Miller comes to the Elite after several successful seasons previously with the Central Alberta Buccaneers.


Previous to the AFL, Miller played in the Northern Football Conference with the Steel City Patriots from 2012-2015 where he was defensive captain during his tenure. Miller also played for the now defunct Vancouver Trojans of the CJFL where he won Rookie of the year.

Ryan’s most successful time as a player came with the Bucs where he was voted 1st team All-Star and team Defensive MVP in 2016 where he set the AFL and Bucs Record for most forced fumbles in a season with 5.


Miller is known for his hard hitting and tone setting hits in the AFL, and will be joining the Elite defense that is shaping up to be one to be reckoned with this coming season.

The Edmonton Elite would like to announce the signing of Athlete Tyler Wilson for the 2020 season.

Tyler comes to the Elite a native of Edmonton, Alberta having played with the North Edmonton Seahawks Minor Football Club growing up, graduating from Archbishop O'Leary High School, an Edmonton Wildcats Alumni and most recently being a 3X AUS Loney Bowl champion with the St. Francis Xavier University Xmen (2 as a player and 1 as a coach).

Tyler made his mark in the AFL early on with the St. Albert Stars, prior to departing to Antigonish, Nova Scotia to play for St. FX University Xmen. Returning to the AFL after his eligibility with the Fort McMurray Monarchs for a short stint.

Tyler is joining the Elite and will be bringing his skills, ability and exemplary attitude back to Edmonton, Alberta and giving back to his hometown roots.

The Edmonton Elite are excited to announce the signing of SB/RB/DB Major Newman for the upcoming 2020 season.

Major comes to the Elite with significant football experience having played for Bishops University from 2009-2013 with a 1 year stint in between playing for the Westshore Rebels in the CJFL.

Newman has previously played for the Calgary Gators and Central Alberta Buccaneers.

In 2015, Newman won the AFL Defensive Player of the Year as a Cornerback and was also voted AFL Special Teams Player of the Year with the Gators.

While playing for the Bucs, Newman was a dual threat player where he would play offense and defense and would keep opponents on there toes not knowing where he was starting on any given Saturday.

Major also will be an offensive assistant with the Elite as he will bring his football IQ with him to help lead an offense with incredible talent to show the AFL the Elite mean business.

The Edmonton Elite would like to announce the signing of Defensive Back Andrew Taylor for the upcoming 2020 season.

Taylor comes to the Elite from the Central
Alberta Buccaneers where he played last season.

During the 2019 season, Taylor tied a league record with 12 interceptions in regular season play.

In addition to the playing for the Bucs,
Taylor previously played for the Edmonton Huskies and Wildcats from 2016-2019.

Andrew was also voted AFL Defensive Rookie of the Year this past season.

The Elite are excited for this addition to the defense and look forward to Taylor’s ball hawking agenda while he is on the field this coming season.

The Edmonton Elite would like to announce the signing of Defensive Back Erik “Prime” Kyler for the upcoming 2020 season.

Kyler is a 10 year veteran of the AFL, having previously played the St.Albert Stars and last season with the Airdrie Irish.

Erik is a 6x AFL All Star since he has entered the league and will bring a veteran presence to the DB squad that will look to shut down the AFL’s top passers this season.

The Edmonton Elite would like to announce the signing of Cornerback CJ Johnson for the 2020 season.

CJ comes to the Elite having last played for Texas A&M Commerce from 2013-2015 having won a Lone-Star championship in that time frame. Previously to Texas A&M Commerce, CJ played for Tyler Junior College where in 2011 he was selected as an All-American. During his stint with TJC, Johnson holds the record for longest interception return in school history with a 103 yard return.

CJ is joining the Elite Defense and will be bring his attitude and shut down abilities to Edmonton where he is expected to flourish and show the league why he has such a large chip on his shoulder. CJ’s transition will be smooth as he has friends and family that will show him the Canadian way and Edmonton landscape.

The Edmonton Elite are happy to announce that they have signed Offensive Lineman Kyle LeBlanc for the 2020 season.

Kyle is no stranger to the AFL having suited up for Jets and Bucs in previous seasons.

LeBlanc is currently signed with the Guadalajara Tequileros of the Mexico FAM league where he will play out the season and then join the Elite.

Kyle won the league championship with Queretaro Pioneros during the 2019 season in Mexico. In 2017 playing for D1 Spain, was selected to the European all star game that was played in Mexico City. Kyle was voted best European lineman during the season. And finally during 2018 Kyle was voted 1st Team All Star with the Bucs.

Kyle will help solidify the Elites O-line and bring hard work and grittiness to a unit that expects perfection for the 2020 season.

The Edmonton Elite of the Alberta Football League are excited to announce that Chris McKenna is our new Defensive Coordinator for our upcoming 2020 inaugural season!

Coach McKenna comes to the Elite from the Cold Lake Fighter Jets where he was the Head Coach for the 2019 season.

Under Coach McKenna, the Jets finished the season with an AFL best 7-1 regular season record. The Jets were league leaders in almost every statistical category under his guidance.

Coach McKenna brings a wealth of football experience having either played or coached for over 30 years.

The Edmonton Elite are very excited to have Coach McKenna on board and to show all teams in the AFL what the Elite Defense can do under his guidance.
